Ryōgoku Kokugikan

Experience sumo where its rituals come alive.

Why we love itSumo combines elite sport, centuries-old ritual and a uniquely Japanese stadium atmosphere in a way that cannot be replicated by a short demonstration.

Ryōgoku Kokugikan is Tokyo's principal grand sumo venue, hosting tournaments each January, May and September. A tournament day unfolds gradually from lower-ranked morning bouts to the ceremonial entrances and headline matches of the top-division wrestlers.
